How can we help them?

What is it they are up to when they are at their best? What are they doing when they don’t feel they have all the cares in the world pressing on them? When we explore what their ‘happy thing’ is, then we can encourage them to do more of it.

  • Is it a sport? What sport can they do at the moment, if they can’t do their usual one.
  • Is it making something in the kitchen? Then can we allocate them a regular spot to cook for the family, or encourage them to experiment with new recipes.
  • Do they enjoy craft and making things? Could they try some new materials perhaps?

Wouldn’t it be terrific if a year from now they could look back on this time and say how pleased they are that they had the opportunity to do something well, to try something new, to do more of some thing fun.
