HOW ARE YOU GETTING ON WITH YOUR PARTNER?
During lockdown plenty of us reviewed whose company we really wanted to be in. Some couples appreciated the chance to have extra time together, and some people found their partner ever more annoying.
It is often said that to have a real enduring love, you first have to love yourself. How can you learn to do that? How do you firstly establish a relationship with yourself that is kind, generous and forgiving?

How can we help them?
What is it they are up to when they are at their best? What are they doing when they don’t feel they have all the cares in the world pressing on them? When we explore what their ‘happy thing’ is, then we can encourage them to do more of it.
What are YOU scared of?
My friend said ‘How come my teenage daughter is nervous about going to the supermarket to get me some shopping, but not scared about her big trip to Australia?’
Well, it’s all about what we IMAGINE: When she thinks about the supermarket she thinks about x,y,z, (queues / germs / whatever). Australia? Well, that’s sunshine, new friends, freedom.
CAN BREATHING EXERCISES REDUCE ANXIETY?
Research shows that although we all breathe every moment of our life with no conscious input (after all, if we had to remember to do it we wouldn’t last long, would we), practicing some simple conscious breath techniques can be very helpful.
One very simple exercise that can instantly calm you down is what I call rectangle breathing
HOW CAN SOLUTION FOCUSED THINKING HELP US IN THE CURRENT CLIMATE?
In a nutshell: We can’t control events that are happening out there in the world, but we can control our thinking about them.
How does this work? I can help you to re-order your responses, the way you interpret events. Events happen, and maybe you could look at them in a different way. A way that causes you to be less stressed.
